I have a problem regarding installing 2 outside lights onto an extension, in that I am struggling to find a prescribed zone. There are 3 double sockets internally that obviously create vertical zones which I could utilise, however they are "broken" by windows above them (I was looking to come down the wall from above and then out). Now I can't find anything in the reg's that mentions zones being interrupted in this manner, but I would have thought the presence of the window might lead someone to believe there were no cables above it. Obviously if they looked outside they may suspect that the internal zone may be being used. The wall in question is the gable end and the extension has a vaulted ceiling so there is a good chunk of wall above the windows. I could chase into the block-work externally as it is going to be rendered but am I being a bit over cautious here?
