samsung lcd tv no picture

Hi All, I wonder if some one could help me, i have a Samsung 32 inch lcd tv, i have no picture but do get the sound, i have tried replacing the Capacitors ( one was bulging at the top) but it still has the same problem, i tried ringing Samsung ,but they just passed me onto there recognised repair centre, the fella told me it would probably cost about

LED or CFL backlights?

Model number of set?

Does the picture flash on for a second or so at power up then go off or do you never get any picture at all?

If you shine a torch at the screen can you see a very very faint picture?

I had the exact same problem with a 3 year old Hitachi 42" very disappointed as it cost
