i have been in london 30 years. i had my dad down working with me.

i had to ask him to repeat himself on more than once. he used words i had not heard for years. i asked him what he was doing one day.

he said i am geeing the flair a scoosh to keep the stoor doon.

he was spraying water on the floor to keep the dust down.

it took me a couple of secs to catch on

hahahaha

i love it :)

then again, mancs accents are shocking compared to us from yorkshire LOL

I gave up watching that Scottish TV comedy , Rab C Nesbitt, could hardly understand a word to be honest, hard work trying to keep up .

Same with Kenny Dalglish, one of the greats in soccer but never understood a word he said unless he slowed down.

Think I'll start a new thread on accents.

Deke

Theres a subbie in work with me whos from glasgow, we can all sort of understand him now as hes worked down here for years

If you think the Glasgow accent is bad try working with someone from Belfast, thats painfull, it took me ages to understand him then he left.
