Some numpty has fitted some regular directional down lights into a steamy bathroom. One over the shower/bath and two others in the bathroom. All are starting to rust.

I thought i see some larger sized energy efficient down lights in QVS a year or so ago, but i can not find any in the online catalog.

If anyone could give me a lead as to where i could source some suitable down lights to fit a 90mm(86mm) cut out i would be eternally grateful.

1st one would be an inline fan with light attached,[showerlight fan], 4", sorted,

as for the others, you can get adapters that fit, Im sure someone will get you a link.

Nice idea on the fan, but the it would be nice to replace them with 3 of a kind fittings. The house has a soffit lower than the ceiling so unless i get into going through the roof exaust is difficult.

The adapters might be last resort, im sure they would be IP rated with a bit of silicone.

I trawled through the TLC catalog today and couldnt find any bathroom ones to fit in the 90mm hole, only regular fittings. Though i will double check and have a look on line now

the outside wall isnt going to be tight to the roof, use a bit of flexi and squash it through to the soffit, any outside vent is better than none, imo,

i use i cage which i think from memory are 85mm cut out but do have a large lip round the edge so am sure you could loose 2.5 mm all the way round.

Your right its not totally tight to the wall, but it is very tight. I fitted a fan there before and wanted to get a large one in the loft. Due to the ultra tight gap (tighter than i would like to squish ducting) i opted for drilling one through the outside wall.

I had a lucky escape when i discovered i drilled into the soffit area. I learned my lesion of not measuring how low the soffit is when drilling to outside wall. Luckily i drilled inbetween timbers.

I hate domestics

was just a suggestion to get rid of one of the holes, and get some ventilation at the same time,

my own house is the same, I have a wall fan- below the soffit, :D

ooo i like the icage.

104mm cut out and GX53 lamps look right up my street.

i get them from local wholesalers but most do them. google icage should be first thing then download catalog. some times if you run IE as administrator then paste that link in it should work. or im sure some one will be able to change it if i cant.

icage, I like them, generally a good fitting for the money.

link works for me, its obviously a windoze issue :slap

youve got it sorted mate? there great fittings. i use nothing other now unless client supplies. there sturdy, pleanty of room to work with, springs very strong and also there set high up so if ceiling double boarded theres no trouble.

come with gu10 and lv leads too so can choose which lamps to use.

i really like the look of them, thanks for that.

I got the catalog, looks good. I might be bold and go for the GX fitting, depending on the price.

windows issue, your funny stepathetoe. It was me right clicking onit to open on another tab, instead of just clicking. windows indeed. yuk. firefox and safari always.

I get in a bad habit of using WF, TLC, CEF and electrafix. I might start using Edmonsons and national lighting more often.

thanks chaps, i think icage have got my vote

you a lotto winner then?

eddies are not too bad,

as for a windoze issue, nowt to do with Firefox etc, its what pops up when you turn your PC on, :slap

icage are a good fitting for the money IMO anyway, I use quite a few of them, good value for money I would say, I never use anything but GU10 though.
