Hi guys I'm just about to sit the SECCT test a pre employment test in Scotland I've already sat it and failed by three marks on the technical part is there any help anyone could give would be appreciated cheers

Hi Lookas     I don't think theres many on here who know anything about SECCT  , its obviously a Scottish thing .  Personally I don't have a clue what it is .
Hi Evan it's pretty much just a pre employment aptitude test to be considered for an apprenticeship in the electric industry

OK   That's a Scotland thing then .   Strangely there are not that many Scottish members on here .

Well there,s Prodave of course  but he,s  an Englishman  who fled to the north.

Question 11..... That's a very steep ramp, a very steep ramp indeed

i wonder how they expect the cable to be run?

alongside the ramp and buried?

surface?

could make a difference along with how much is needed for termination as well

probably best go with 20m just in case  :innocent

The ramp is a red herring. Think about it practically.

imagine turning up to the job with exactly 15mtr of cable. well it fits between road and front door, but you will need to get another length to connect to each end

Thanks guys yeah that's the one but those questions don't really give the best representation of the rest of the technical questions or maybe I'm not smart enough haha I failed with three marks on the technical side appreciate all the help and yeah the answers 15 haha thanks again

What like this you mean???

http://www.sectt.org.uk/assessment.html

If you failed on the technical part best get some books on electrical theory i would think..

john...
Thanks John

Metre for outside joint

10 to ramp base

4 along ramp

3 up house wall

buried at 0.6 (twice)

2m inside as it will need to be bbetween 450 and 1200 from floor for DDA ...assuming that is the reason for the F steep ramp

so.   1&10&4&3&.6&.6&3.  It then it depends how thick wall is :innocent

21.2
