If TT'ing a building, is there a way of checking the routing of all the services, as i do not want to hammer a rod through the gas main, water main, electrical supply, main drainage etc....

its call your eyes and best guess. pretty much all you can do.

but look on the bright side, if you hit a lead water pipe, your going to get a damn good reading!

No, i just wondered if there is a way of obtaining a map from the local authorities, and if it would be any good or not....

not sure of a map from local authorities, but DNO etc should be able to give you records if you have reasonable need for them. however they may not be 100% accurate

CAT detectors may also pick up some services
