Tw/e cables up to 2.5 are now single core. Cables in tw/e above 4mm are stranded. Conduit wiring is generally always stranded. Flex has to be flexible so it is made up of many strands this is why you dont use tw/e for wiring machinery and the like as after a time solid cores will probably break.

all those cables in a 25mm box looks a bit tight
It looks more like a 35mm box when you take into account that level of plaster on it too.
