short cables in back box

hello chaps,

whats the best solution for short cables in back boxes? wagos ok?

are stranded cables ok in pushfit?

crimps are usually smaller

stranded conduit cables will go into push fits. flex stranded wont (well, maybe the lever type)

I generally use red wagos which can be used with stranded cables up to 6mm and down to 2.5mm.

old T&E stranded would be more conduit...

ie thick conductors, compared to many smaller conductors in flex

Tw/e cables up to 2.5 are now single core. Cables in tw/e above 4mm are stranded. Conduit wiring is generally always stranded. Flex has to be flexible so it is made up of many strands this is why you dont use tw/e for wiring machinery and the like as after a time solid cores will probably break.

ahhh i got you now, the thin stranded like you get in a lamp etc is no good but i would be ok with the twin.

yeah this is putting sockets back on after plasters have been in :_| along with a cu change

It looks more like a 35mm box when you take into account that level of plaster on it too.
