Went to a job today where 3 of these downlighters had failed

the transformers had gone duff but also the tenant had replaced the lamps

are these lamps specialist to these fittings or can you use normal

mr16 ?

Cheers

You have to use aluminium reflector lamps in them which reflects the heat forward instead of the usual dichroic lamps that send the heat back into the fitting.

As Caddie says if you use normal dichroics it will bu..er the fittings and probably the transformers but it may be just the trannies. I have fitted loads over the years and occasionaly you may get a few duff trannies. I usually ring electro technic and they send me out a few replacements at no charge.

cheers for that

well the tenant put the dichroics in as replacements

its the trannies that have gone 5 years old

hopefully the Polish tenant still has the old lamps
