Can anyone let me know if this ok.
I can’t find a relevant regulation and therefore unsure if it’s ok?

If you are looking for regs to cover every possible scenario of socket installation...

You are going to be spending long.. long.. hours flicking those index pages!!

I don't think you will actually find a reg that states its ok to fit a socket above a worktop!

Other than the 3m from bath/shower..

or building regs 450mm from floor...

There aren't actually that many regs relating to specific installation of standard sockets in domestic installations..

:C

If a socket is 3m from a bath or shower but you buy a 5m extension lead to plug the heater in where that does LEAD you 😂

Quite

But WHY are they planning to reduce the distance from a bath from 3m to 2.5m is well beyond my logic.
The vastly smaller sink- socket separations allowed in kitchens and the awkward trend for installing baths in Bedrooms is likely causing a re-look at what is a sensible reaching /splashing distance.

The 'end users' have of course been running extensions leads etc into bathrooms for years though - happily its not part of the installation though

I've thought for a long time that the, "bathroom ban", seems to be a British thing. The European countries I've visited all have sockets in their hotel bathrooms, and in France where my son lives having washing machines or dryers in the home bathroom appears common.

People seem to expect to be able to use their hair dryers in the bathroom, and I think it's expected in return that they aren't stupid enough to balance a fan heater on the end of the bath.

youd think that, but there have been a few deaths (not just UK) by people using their phone in the bath, whilst its on charge. people are stupid

absolutley no reason why you can't put a socket in a cupboard under a sink. Helps to try and avoid positions where water might drip at some point, but if the plumber has failed it's still not our issue.

houses are getting smaller  :slap
quite right, in fact they are shrinking at an alarming rate if new builds are anything to go by

And more importantly it’s accessible , so crack on
