Lancashire born and bred, fully used to the northern delicacies that many hate, and presently on holiday in Cornwall I had my first ever scone + cream +jam yesterday lunchtime.
Indigestion all afternoon makes me doubt if any more are likely to follow!

Not sure.

Try reversing the cream and jam sequence and see if that cures the indigestion

Summercourt, near Newquay. Intention is finding scenic drives and some NT places to visit with not too much walking. Recommendations welcome.

St Michael's mount, my favourite NT property is Cothele in the Tamar valley, but it's a bit of a drive from Newquay. Godrevy lighthouse/ beach, just up from Hayle is stunning, plus if you walk around the headland has a view of a beach the grey seals use. Charlestown harbour - used as a filming set for Poldark and many other things. That's a short list for now, I'll have a longer think later

Perranporth beach is 3 miles long when the tide is out, and there's loads of mining heritage around St Agnes - if you go to the headland car park, you may recognise the engine house form Poldark.

Padstow is also worth a look, the whole esturary is stunning. I would recommend hiring bicycles and cycling the cycle path to Wadebridge along the estuary. Or reverse that as parking is cheaper in Wadebridge . Wadebridge still has some local shops, which is nice in this day and age. The cycle path continues all the way to Bodmin if you are feeling keen, where the old Goal is worth visiting.

Eden project is interesting if you like plants. Hayle birds of paradise mini zoo is also quite nice.

Thanks so much for taking the time to compile those suggestions. We did go to Lands End today, (well you can't really visit Cornwall without doing, can you?) It was a bit disappointing in that it reminded me of a seaside resort pier. We will certainly follow some of your suggestions.

Lands End has been ruined, but it is compulsory

NB the seagulls are swine, do not hold pasty chips or ice cream more than a foot from your body in busy places, or the flying vermin will swoop down and have it out of your hand. Impressive flying, but....

Marconi's original telegraph point if I remember correctly, or was that radio. It's close to the Minnack either way and a lovely cove.
