I currently have a combi boiler heating system with a timer under the stairs in my lounge, and only have TRV's on the radiators. I am looking to add a thermostat to save some money.

I am wondering if I purchase a timer/thermostat inbuilt can I use that as a direct replacement of the current panel? (the location it is in is fine for a thermostat)

There are four wires to my current timer / heating controls.

Is this the correct way to go?

that would work quite happily, or you could save a few quid by buying a standard thermostat to use with the exisiting programmer - basically will work in the same way. On the boiler there should be a pair of terminals for a thermostat which you can wire directly to without touching the existing set-up

Okay Thanks, I probably wont bother with wiring directly to the boiler. Though i'll have a look to see if a wireless thermostat works out cheaper than a new timer/thermostat programmer.

Thanks for the quick reply!
