Actually looking at the shadows cast on the ceiling it does indicate that the electrician failed to correctly position the pendants as they are clearly not symmetrical. Unless of course they were going for the more natural and lifelike non-symmetrical appearance?

I believe that may be an illusion, it would be down to the lamp rating allowing more juice to flow through one than the other!
