Hi All

I was working at a friends, when I noticed that his toilet room had a wash hand basin and about 2-3 feet away, was a wall switch.

I mentioned that I wasn't sure, but with the switch being near to the basin, it should be a pull switch. Because of the zones.

He said he keeps having to tell his grandkids to make sure they dry their hands properly before using the switch.

I checked in the BRB and I can't find anything on this. Am I missing something?

Thanks

Malc

its not a spec location if it had a bath or shower it would be different. U could have the same situation in the kitchen.

A pull cord in this situation is not a bad idear

It is considered good practice to keep sockets and switches at least 300mm from sinks, but there are no regs prevent one being placed nearer. As Tom has highlighted a room with a toilet is not a special location.
