Spur Smoke/Heat Detectors?

Hello,

Do Interlinked Smoke/Heat detectors have to be wired in series or can I spur off?

Building control have decided they want more Heat Detectors after I've just finished doing what they originally wanted. ****s.

They`re a circuit, like any other - as long as the max Zs complies, (and c.c.c, though I don`t expect it to be an issue in this case) you can do what you like with `em

What grade system are we talking about here?

If it's a normal domestic system then you can

however if it's a panel system then it may not like it

If Domestic Smoke/heat detectors then yes , tee off if you want .

Problem you may have is connecting more than two cables in a detector especialy Aico .

you could cut a single dry linner behind the aico, do your connection there

If they're mains interlinked you can. Just been on the aico course and they said they're working on bigger connections! Hip hip......

You could save time and put a radio base in if they're Aico as the radio bases have hard wired interconnect. (I don't work for Aico lol)
