DOL with limit switch and e stop... if only it was that simple...

been told machine worked fine, then just stopped. had a quick look at it, if i press contactor in it runs but wont stay on.

wouldnt normally get involved other than 'the supply to it works', but its for a friend

You've got 3 motors, one will be the blade, one the coolant pump and one the hydraulic pump, yes?

Have you reset the 3 overloads?

have you got continuity through the e-stop chain through the overloads?

didnt do much with it, lack of time

tried the overloads, none were tripped. there is only 1 stop button, along with a few limit switches. the stop buttons appear to work OK. will have a better look in the next few days, just trying to find a wiring diagram to make fault finding a little easier. cant find any on the net that are not

Check voltage from the control transformer is that okay?

Is that some form of trip on the right of the box, or just a switch?

Are those 3 fuse holders right at the bottom below the terminal blocks?

It should be pretty easy to trace out the circuit, but it's a shame the builder hadn't heard of cable number sleeves.

So check those fuses, check there's some voltage coming out of the transformer, then trace it through the estop system.

never checked transformer supply. or the fuses at the bottom

each cable is marked - the terminal number is printed onto the end of each cable. just the other end has a different marking

Dave has just beaten me to the fuses bit, I had not spotted them till after my last post.

If you poke in each relay does the corresponding motor work?

If so it is a control fault.

push in contactor and it does work, so definately a control fault somewhere, just not sure what at the moment

Andy,

I have emailed the Service Manager at the "current" Startrite for a circuit diagram for you as he is dealing with a spares enquiry for me.

Andy,

Alan has come back, no circuit, but he thinks Lee has one so I will email him later, he is looking into spares for another old Startrite for me.

If not then the last chance is a bit more difficult, but I will try for you next week!...
