Those fuse holders are still quite common to be found in control panels. Usually more so if they are German built. 

They take the bottle style diazed fuses.

They take the bottle style diazed fuses. 

They unscrew themselves on Demag cranes. Great fun when you’re trying to get to a control panel four foot above a 5 ton casting at 750°C.

I hate the damn things.

The ONLY MINOR saving grace is the blown fuse indicator which is on some versions of fuse.
