Worked on a place a year or two ago that had nearly every type of wiring still in use and it was only a three bed property. It had cotton covered singles in conduit, lead sheath twin, vulcanised Indian rubber T&E, imperial T&E, and both old grey sheath metric and white sheath metric T&E. really should have took pictures of the place. Needless to say we were rewiring the whole place anyway but was quite surprised to find so many wiring systems and cable types in one house.

Am doing a rewire at the mo where Im removing the lead cable.

The pipes are still in situ for the gas lights!
