Does anyone buy/sell on the stock exchange...

Going to try but have never done before and am worried that the only company i am about to invest in will probably go t**s up but i suppose that is the gamble;)

You going to put it all into BP? :D
How did you guess, just wating for it to drop a little more. Going to invest 20K worth the missus will not be happy if it all fail's but hey it's only money and you can't take it with you

:innocent

ive been looking for a few years and have a watchlist i keep a eye on. I have friends that have invested with varying results.

Asked a few customers in high positions for tips and always got the 'insider trading' line.

I too am going to invest although on a much smaller scale, a few of my friends are economics lectruers and the like and they reccomend sites like this

http://www.iii.co.uk/.

You only pay

I used to buy and sell money, long before the euro,

you could make money then for a very small outlay.

as I was told, never gamble with money you cant afford to lose,

and it is gambling.

if you cant afford to give me 20K then dont do it.

only gamble money you dont actually need.

Your spot on, like any investment its always a gamble.

Never bet more than you can afford to lose, and any investments have to be long term to gain any benifit unless you get wind of something before the event!

I know someone who bought alot of shares in BA when the price of there shares dropped after 9/11.

Now worth a fortune!

No, not yet, but they are in financial difficulties, had an emal from our credit reference agency last week.

It has also been discussed on another forum, apparently they have lost some (a) big public sector contract down in the SW?

Hi,how did you get on with the shares ? I buy and sell in small amounts, I wanted to get in on BP around the 300 mark but didn't have the cash spare due to a house move.

Cheers
