I'm looking for help with a newlec nl10581 storage heater.

The heater has worked normally for the past few weeks, but has stopped working for the past few days. Power seems to be getting to the unit.

I suspect that some sort of internal thermal cut off has tripped due to overheating (input had been turned up, and output turned down).

Does anyone know if this heater has a manual reset feature - I'm thinking it should be somewhere on photo 1 below, but I can't locate it.

Yes, that is the thermal cut out.

To reset it firstly turn off the heaters isolator switch and test to make sure that it's actually isolated, then with a flat bladed screw driver press down on the bit that starts to rise coming from the red part forward,,, you should hear a little click

Thanks for your quick response. Just to clarify, if this hasn't "tripped" can it still be reset - i.e. if I press it and there is no click - does that mean that it has not actually cut off (and the fault lies elsewhere), or is it a full reset whether or not it has actually cut off.

If that doesn't fix it then either you are not doing it right or there is another fault elsewhere

and if it keeps on happening then it sounds like the input stat has failed (or your covering the heater)

it will only click if its tripped
