Now that we are getting MCS accerdited and going to be installing our own jobs, obviously we need to look at what products to actually install and where to reliably get said products from.

So, tips and pointers!

What do you use and who do you generally get it off? Do you use your standard electrical wholesalers?

I've got a meeting with our regular elelctrical wholsalers 'Solar Guy' tomorrow to see what they stock or can get hold of but would like a few pointers. From their site, they only have Sunnys inverters, JA Panels and Schletter mounts. Not a bad combination by all accounts but we won't be putting all our eggs in one basket. We want to give the consumer the option of graded systems (bronze, silver gold, style) rather than saying 'You have to have this!'.

Any info (either publically here or via PM) would be great.

Cheers

stick with Schletter its built like  a brick outhouse.

Rexel have suddenly got all competitive, paddler likes Wagner, I like Segen - I'll make contact for you if you wish, only to see if i can get a pressie :innocent .

Suss out several, many headline price panels and inverters then try to sting you on meters and switch gear Segen are in Bolton, so quite close to you, which helps when you've forgotten a panel clip.

Thanks for the info guys. Still listening if anyone else wants to chip in.....

I will see what the wholesalers can do today, then will try to source a localish dedicated solar supplier and see how they compare.

as far as manchester is concerned, it sounds close at 50+miles but it usually takes a bloody age to get there.

Thanks Again!

firk all in my neck of the woods. It means he can get timd deliveries for 9am straight to site, which is very useful,

a/ for not having to load and unlaod vans constantly

b/ the occasions when you do forget a length of rail or something, if desperate 50 mies is an hours drive, or again, you know you can get missing parts first thing in the morning.

I agree Binky, it isn't the furthest place in the world. Going to see what is local and possibly look further afield anyway as at the end of the day, can't remember the last time I worked locally anyways, lol.

I like segen becuase of their quote / ordering system - you get visibility of all parts, availability and prices, plus you can place an order on-line at 10pm if necessary / can't sleep. All data sheets and brochures are availbale - also useful for quoting late at night, and prices are good. It takes a while to get used to their system, but it is a lot easier then ordering through Denmans and the like

Wagner - only because i can drive there as they are local

Segen are very good

Where is that then ?

This is wagner in the UK

http://www.wagnersolarshop.com
Well I googled 'Wagner solar' and that lead me to http://uk.wagner-solar.com/

Which is in West Sussex so figured I was looking at the right site.

I then look at their 'Training' page http://uk.wagner-solar.com/training/overview-academy.html

Then clicked the link near the bottom to '...visit the Wagner Academy website'

Cheers for clearing it up though....

Yeah, I've used segen a couple of times now, they seem good. Had a couple of hiccups mind but Louis seems a good lad and instantly set about sorting my issues. Cheers
