a family member has just moved house, and their is a 10mm t+e cable protected by a 30ma rcd supplying a 3 way board in the garage, the board has a lighting circuit to supply 2 lights, 20a radial and a 16a outdoor socket. everythings fine but just wondering if this is technically correct, or whether all garage supplys need swa supplying it?? any advice would be great thanks :)

Waht is the ocpd for the distribution circuit. And how is the cable installed. And when you say it's protected by RCD, do you mean it's connected to the RCD side of a split board or it's got its own RCD. Is the garage detached?

It may be.... or it may not?

Hard to say with so little detail given...

Which regulations do you think it fails to meet and why?

What serious hazards or dangers does it present for the occupants?

What did the last periodic inspection or installation certificate say on it about the garage?
