Just been out to price a re-wire & its all going in pvc trunking.

Out of curiosity what could be non rcd protected as the whole installation is in trunking?

Why , may I ask ? Just the bathroom for me !
no reason not to, got a few 17th consumer units already on the van so no point in spending extra money.

this might be rude of me to ask but what sort of money should you charge for a surface rewire?

Depends what you want from the job.

You save on labour from chasing out but spend a bit more on trunking.

I keep the price the same if i need the job and the money.

You could get away with just RCD protecting bathroom circuits and sockets but as you have a 17th board use it that way if they get the cables chopped in at a later date it will still comply. Personally I would put cooker on Rcbo.

Batty

Things will change before i start it anyway, kitchen is now being sunk in so that only leaves up lights that dont require rcd

is a toilet not a bathroom?mmm

I just assumed it was............
NO..

Rooms containing a BATH or SHOWER....

areas with exposed bare skin & water!

unless you get butt naked & stand in the toilet pan to wet your feet!

]:) :^O :^O:^O

ok - lets assume upstairs bath and downstairs shower so I'm right re lights and RCD

;)

(we only have 1 lighting cct)
