Back to the OP, if this is introducing new characters and stories that weren't part of the original books then how can they be called Thomas The Tank engine? It is nothing to do with political correctness. Just simple money making exploitation. The original books are relevant to the culture and time when they were written, just as with work by Shakespeare or Enid Blyton.  The whole thing is about as daft as saying that the songs by the Rolling Stones, or Beatles need some additional Politically Correct tunes added!

And that is the problem, there is too much emphasis on ethnicity and the like it's always the same,you can't say that in case you offend  him because he's  a Muslim, is a comment you often hear these days, oh so it would be OK to say that same thing  if the guy wasn't  a Muslim. ? And there is a lot  of what is wrong  today too much emphasis is put on not upsetting  a particular  group rather  than not upsetting  anyone in general. It leads to a culture of fear,take travellers for example,they pitch up wherever they want they dump rubbish  everywhere yet a lot of councils are afraid to act because they are now classed as an ethnic minority and they don't, want to be seen as persecuting them,yet that same council catches you dropping a cig stump and hits you with  a fine.This leads to resentment among the wider community and you  have problems. I'm all for integration  and tolerance but it has to be an even playing field ,if you are not going to prosecute travellers  for dumping  trucks full of rubbish on common land then you shouldn't prosecute the guy from down the road when he does exactly the same. 

When are you standing for election? you will get my vote.

You got it there Phil D , travellers are above the law , they can drive around the country  leaving there carp to be cleaned up by the residents of the last town /city they inflicted their Pee taking selves upon .   People without addresses don't show up in court , just move on and carp on someone else .

The joke is on us , travellers are not ethnic or some sort of romantic Romanys , they're from the Republic of Ireland , and where are they banned from travelling around ?....Yep...the Republic of Ireland .

when they get caught they should be locked up until they are dealt with,there was one round here,always fighting and hurting people,he was finally done for almost killing a bloke and sent down for 25 years,his family were up in arms saying he'd been hard done by.

Having read through the posts in this thread what can you say with Brazilian engines and references to sex education for 7 year olds is this joined up thinking!!!
