Heard a little snippet of a programme on the radio the other day and it keeps coming back to me .

It was from a recording made in 1953 , it was oop north in Lancashire with a lot of "ee by gums " going on . The guy was speaking to an elderly lady who was aged 87 , he said worked all your life havn't you , she said :-

" Well lad , I started work when I was 9 in t'mill and apart from when I had my children , worked till I was 75 ." And we think we have it hard !!! :Salute

Yep, my missus come from Newcastle and i visit there once a year, amazing what they wear when its -20C wind chill on a friday night out.....

But that was the only price I could remember [it was actually 20.5p a pint in the Kersal opposite Salford Uni Halls of Residence, Bodds if I recall correctly] ....draw your own conclusions. Apparently you are as old as you feel. I am 55 and do NOT feel it, well apart from the old knees... :coat

Common complaint with Sparks is knees ,mine are shot too , YOU MUST WEAR THE KNEE PADS , ARE YOU LISTENING ???? They don't listen to me you know, they'll regret it , they'll be saying , if only I'd listened to Deke , you see if they don't.!!!
