time lag switch

Does anyone know of a time lag switch which is adjustable up to 20mins. It is to control a light and extractor fan in a bathroom.

Danlers probably would do one I have fitted PIR switches in bathrooms like that.

Have no neutral at switch so cant use that one and 10mins is not long enough its just a switch swap outside bathroom so cant get a neutral down to switch as he does not want decoration touched.

Ten minutes usually but they really are not that accurate I have found.

yeah they are ten mins. thats the max time i have found for a two wire switch so far. might have to be a quick s*** and shower for the guests.

Right - the first WILL work without N, you just use one of the variants (although that unit DOES actually work without Neutral, but may have its life shortened.

There are lots of nuetral free options - ask your whoesaler. As for back box - it's not imposssible to deepen box without damaging decor. Patience and care are the watch-words for this.

KME have you used the first switch yourself with no nuetral connected if so did it perform ok.

Binky i have seen and contacted my wholesalers about these switches and i know there are alot of two wire ones but they only go up to 10mins.

Knocking in a deeper back box is no problem but chasing of wall is a definite no no.

I was on a job yesterday, replacing 2 of these units which were permanently on (I have emailed mfrs to see if failure to provide N connection can cause premature failure) ; and these had worked happily on heat lamps for a smoking area outside a pub, for 18 months.

They are available in a 2 wire version, which is the variant you would want.

n.b. I HAVE used the 2 wire version, and had no problem with them at all.

As I previously said, you can also use a remote timer, and PTM switch in the backbox - no wiring alteration necessary at switch; it becomes simple firing circuit for remote timer in loft.......
