M

Is it SSE in your area. I know they sometimes put those meters in that sparks can connect into themselves a lot easier than EDF outfit.

Batty

And why are you working on a Sunday

Yes SSE.

Had to work today as payment offer made by customer for me to do so was too good to miss.

Nice. SSE have obviously taken to use that 'connection block' to combat fraud. Does the meter also have a isolator switch built in under the cover. We had those in EDF land for a year or so but they deemed them to expensive and now dont bother !

It does indeed, it is the white push & twist switch to the lower right of the meter.

Nice stuff M107, ,thanks for sharing it. :)

Slightly off-topic, what insulation is the guy using between the rafters in the loft? I've been looking for such-like for ages, local traders just sell the between joists stuff.

It's solid board insulation, brand leader is Kingspan, Celotex is another I have heard of. It's expensive but seconds often available.

Spot on patch, it's 100mm kingspan....celotex is the more expensive version.

Originally the garage was to be single brick so I'd priced for conduit & singles, but money doesn't seem to be a problem in this abode so he opted for a 100mm stud around the walls with 100mm kingspan infill with plaster board & skim on top, so the spec changed to t/e.

Under all that studwork & plasterboard & kingspan is some fancy pointing on the brickwork.

What with the jablite in the floor the place is more energy efficient than his cottage (until he put on the quartz lamps).

the hardwood floor goes down next week, but he is still toying with installing underfloor heating in the area in front of the plasma screen.

100mm is minimum code now if its timber stud with cavity and clad exterior or 140mm rockwoll.

Try xtratherm they are cheaper than the other two as a rule and as apache says you can get seconds but they are usually tapered thickness ie 100mm may by 100-110mm.

If your fitting it in between raters its the worst job ever with all the find polyurethane dust in your eyes, I'm half way through fitting 138no. 8x4 sheets of it :_| :_|
