Hi guys can any one give me the formula to work this out?

A resistor and inductor in seies circit have a rsistance of 6 and an inductive reactence of 8 respecttively.

What is the total impedance?

hello mate the formula you need is(sorry don't know how to type squared or square root)

Z=the square root of R squared + XL squared.

or Z=the square root of (R x R)+(XL x XL)

if R=6 and XL=8 then the equation will be:

Z=square root of (6x6)+(8x8) so:

Z=square root of 36 + 64 so:

Z= square root of 100 so:

Z=10

i always find it easier to figure it out step by step
