Hi guys a little help or a nudge in the right direction if you can.
Just installed 2 low voltage track lighting systems in a kitchen, problem is the rcbo is tripping when you turn the lights on. but not every time.
sometimes its the 4th, 5th or 2nd time the switch is opereted.
The installation is 2 yrs old, IR tests all<200M ohm (L+N together to Earth.)
Zs was 0.47 ohm, looked at cert from install and his Zs was 0.69 ohm IR all the same.
The system was fine on 2 lamp holders.
If i remove the fuse from 1 transformer the "fault" dissappears and same if i remove the other fuse, so i don't think the lights are at fault.
Could there be a high start up current? there is only 10 lamps at 35w each, had a clamp meter on it today and it pulled 1.8 amps for 10 mins, no spikes when it tripped!
