Can anyone tell me, please, how to test a plug-in type transformer?

Thanks

Mike

Is this for portable appliance testing? If it is and it's a DC out type just give it a insulation test and a load/leakage test.

Use the meter (set to dc or ac depending on the transformers output) on the little power plug at the end of the lead and see if it gives the correct voltage out that it says on information sticker on the plug body.

does the red lead (of the meter) go inside the output plug and black touch the outside of it?

Yes. However it may read a negative voltage if it is a dc output (is it?) as either the inside or the outside can be positive depending on the configuration.

Fun isn't it!

Someone graffiti'ed one of our hand driers at work with it and a wet myself laughing! (I didn't really...).

Then I found it on-line as an image and just had to have it!
