I have also lost my BS7671:2008 on PDF too.

I am going to buy some software and spend a heck of a lot of time Manually entering the various regs, so when someone types in, for example: 311.1.6, a pop up (or a linked page) would tell you what that reg number refers to. (Very handy if you haven't got your regs book to hand)

This will take a heck of a long time for me to do and I will, Of course, be seeking permission from the IEE. :)

Unlikely to happen, book sells for

If your PC can boot from CD then you could just boot into a "live" linux distribution where you could then copy any essentials onto a CD or removable drive. Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/) is a pretty good place to start, download the .iso file and burn to a CD.

Also you could boot into system rescue CD (http://www.sysresccd.org), always worth having a copy of that handy. If you don't have a CD drive you can create USB sticks that boot the machine but it tends to be little bit involved
