Van Security.

Hi guys just kitting my first van out, obviously going to ply line it put a bulkhead in etc but in terms of going beyond basic security what do you guys do, are the extra locks for the back doors worth buying? Definatly considering a lock box inside the van also.

A large external lock is always a good deterrent to thieves - not impossible to overcome, but scum like easy options so will go find a van without big locks, of which there are plenty.

A nice big electrolytic capacitor is a good start......

i have removed the external locks on back doors and replaced with a steel plate after someone tried to get in (they wouldnt have got in anyway - the bar linking key lock to mechanism was removed as soon as i got the van)

Jono, first thing to do is a bolt a hasp and quality padlock on the back doors. Dont worry what it looks like , the scum will target your van if you don't.

mate is building a van safe type jobbie out of some scrap plate hes got at work for a few pints should be able to get some pictures up by next month (if this damn flu goes away anyhow)
