Van won't start!!

Im not here for argument just trying to help but will keep quiet in future. :( Maybe where he's tried starting the van so much its flattened the battery and will not start the other car either. I dunno
I'm not arguing with you mate! Just stating my opinion that the battery couldn't start a second vehicle it was most likely at fault!

Just to clarify things............

Old battery on my van would only turn starter very sluggishly and wouldn't start..

Battery was tested at shop and deemed ok

Battery connected to car (in which I went to the car shop) and wouldn't turn the starter

Battery re-tested at shop and still deemed OK (taken back in car with it's battery connected)

New battery fitted to van this morning - started first time!!

definately dead battery - you can take a voltage and it will be fine, but try and start and it will be dropping, possibly to only a few volts. best way to test for a dead battery is measure voltage whilst engine is being started
