you seem to attract idiots

not on camera but yesterday had a red light jumper next to me. green left arrow comes on, i pull away to turn left... car going straight ahead next to me also pulls away and nearly goes into a car coming in front of him...

Some junctions are completely ridiculous, I came to one the other day, covered in signs/lights/yellow boxes/filters and instructions. By the time I'd worked out where I was going, what the signs said and what lane I wanted I was already half way across the junction, in the wrong lane, against a red light. There was no way could you adequately assess the situation in the distance from the previous corner to the lights without just stopping in the middle of the road, which is probably equally as dangerous. It is very difficult to actually drive considerately and to the letter of the law.

There has been some research, (in the Netherlands I think), about 'information overload on some streets and junctions. They found that by removing signs, lane markings and traffic lights, a lot of junctions performed equally as well, if not better, than when all the signage and light control was in place. Basically people were more courteous with no white lings or compressors

Update, had a message off Currys asking if I had the reg number of the truck as they don't know which one it was! How hard can it be to find it? They have the time and the date and the area, how many trucks would they have making a delivery in a small village? More like they can't be bothered, the internet is littered with video's of their drivers appalling driving.

Could you not grab the image off your footage and send it to them?
I could but why should I, are they going to pay me for my time? I doubt it, it would seem they want everything done for them, tbh they were not even bothered when I rang up to complain, it was only when I put a post on Twitter that they became interested.

In China people are rewarded for shopping other motorists in with the use of dash cams, so much so that people make a living from forcing people into making mistakes and filming it.

Then they go to the cop shop for the reward.

some fines are around 500 $ 😮
