Hi,
Was checking some electrics round a house on Friday and came across loads of problems. Possibly the worst I've seen. I'll post up some pictures later on when at home on computer. I found junction boxes fixed outside on pebbledashed walls with single socket cemented into the outside of an extension with bare t&e showing. It really was bad.
I found majority of sockets in house ran off a 6a lighting circuit all with earths cut off ffs.
The reason for this post was I was checking voltage at sockets and on 2 o the sockets my mft1552 wouldnt read a stabilized voltage. I've videod the display on my tester for 30 seconds and it fluctuates from 238 to 260 v. It flashes constantly jumping from 238 to 240 then 242 which goes up to 260v then back down and up. It wont stay still. It does on most sockets.
Also the kitchen light has been wired from a 32a circuit not fused down.
I'm going back beginning of September to sort out so will post more pictures then. These include melted cables outside which are
Still being used ffs.
I'll post pics later on but why would the voltage be up and down at specific sockets and not at the board ?
Cheers
