Welder Switch

Anyone know where i can get one of these? its not a normal on / off, switch has 4 different switching positions. i have tried craig & derricott but no response

might end up taking it apart and trying to fix it

Do you know what the switching configuration is?  Plenty of people make rotary switches, but is there something special about it?

no idea yet, its faulty so cant work out how its supposed to switch without taking it apart

You say it's 4 position, what are the 4 positions?  different power levels?

Is it for a 2 phase welder that can be used 1ph/N or Ph/Ph?

So 3 position centre off?

What is the machine make/model?

its a single phase welder. there are 2 switches, (both look identical but havent checked). both are for power settings, although this one looks for for fine adjustment, other looks big adjustments

dont think either switch has an 'off'

the 2 black wires are connected to live, then out to the transformer

Have you tried Craig & Derricott ?

sent them an email with the details and a pic, they didnt bother to get back to me. might give them a call monday

It’s a primary tap changer

C→T1

C→T2

C→T3

C→T4

You will have two switches for “course and fine” giving 16 O/P levels.
