A week ago , here in Birmingham, a 90 yr old lady was beaten black and blue in her bed , some bones broken .Nothing stolen ...no clues .

Got the news on as I peruse the Forum ........ she died early this morning .

Then 5 children in Derby ,burnt to death , fire started deliberately , police have arrested the parents but looking for others also!!

Its beyond me .

Round here they're on about having more of those plastic policemen , can't think what they're called ...PCSOs is it ??

Its policing on the cheap really, I understand civvies doing paperwork, radio etc but if they're out on the street they need to be proper coppers .

Police here don't bother with stuff like parking now , unless its causing an obstruction , its left to the council to police .

what about the poor lad that was locked in a coal bunker for a year

some people just do not deserve children!

the old lady being beaten up is disgusting, a similar case happend in warrington a few years ago, to someone who lives down the road from my parents. lad in early 20's has been out 6 months jail for manslaughter (imo he shouldnt of been released in the 1st place - but they said he out for good behaviour), had been to the pub and was sozzled and asked the (79 yr old) lady for a smoke and when she said no, he beat her to within an inch of her life, he shattered most of the bones within her face after stamping on it repeatedly, broke 13 of her ribs, both her arms and fractured her pelvis! he was sentanced to 7 years in jail and he was released last year and given a new identity and moved to a new area!

there are certain persons in this world that are just downright evil....

This crime and punishment thing doesn't seem right sometimes . I posted this before I think but anyway ....I left school at 15 , many ,many years ago ,there was a black lad who left at the same time, (not so many around back then), gets an apprenticship with an electrical company, popular kid, great runner , was looking to join Birchfield Harriers (Local athletics club) .

Stabbed to death by another black kid ,left dying in the gutter , he was just about 16 .

The kid got 20 years as I remember , he would have been out of prison for the the last 30 years .

i used to work in the courts as a security officer, and iv also worked in a youth offenders institute and there is no justice whatsoever, and ur right the crime and punishment thing isnt right!

the best thing iv seen/heard so far with courts

my brother was done for driving without insurance, the car was confiscated by the police and crushed the car technically belonged to my father, now im not condoning what my brother done... but he was given a 6 month driving ban and a

On a serious note. When will the majority ever be heard in this country, why do we always pander to the minority??

The majority will never be heard in this country, its always been the same. the problem being is the government and the law have been too soft in the past and now people make a mockery of it! i say bring back capital punishment or national service! take for instance kids today: they get away with allsorts at school why not bring the cane back or allow parents to discipline their children the way it used to be

a clip round the ear never done me any harm. iv been bought up to respect my elders and listen to the advice that i am given and then take it on board and form my own judgement and opinions.

now? kids think they know it all and you cant tell them otherwise, is all you get is a load of verbal abuse. the statistics say that over 40% of the 14-24 population will at some point or other end up dealing with the law at some stage! all because the parents are limited to what they can do!

Here's the crazy logic of this country.

Given that education is compulsory for ALL children to age of 16, why is they dont have to abide by the school rules and or discipline? Yet when you are employed you are expected to abide by rules and regulations. Both vocations require the individual to spend more time at an establishment then at home. Yet the child can not be disciplined by the school yet any employee can be disciplined by his/her employer.

Is it any wonder why a lot of the school leavers of today dont stand a chance, they might understand intellectual problems/issues but they lack basic common morals and discipline.

So who is at fault?? I guess it must lie with those that thought it was a good idea to allow discipline to be removed from the teacher.

seriously?

they have removed it from the parents too,! headbang

frickin muppet do-gooders,

they have even took it away from the polis too!!!!!!

In this compensation culture, i dont understand why teachers have not put hundreds of various claims in for stress, caused by abuse etc.Would anybody take abuse day in and day out in any other job? Even health and safety seems lacking. If an employee got punched or kicked at any other job, serious questions would be asked and changes implemented.
