Had a fault on a double head lighting column other day (2x250w metal halide). As soon as i put the cut out back in, it blew the fuse. Tested absolutely everything, and everything clear. Changed all gear, ballasts, ignitors and capacitors, put a new 6A fuse in cut out, blew again. Connected one fitting at a time and fuse held. Connected both and another fuse down the pan. Clamped each fitting and got 1.7 dropping to 1.1 on each. After half a dozen fuses later, turned out to be a full pack of dodgy BS 88's. What are the chances? I did notice they said "made in India" on them
