3 creates trip hazards for you and the public in the shop.
1 is correct if you don`t feel competent to carry out the works.
4 is addressable to almost ALL "live working"; including fault finding.
5 could also be correct, if you don`t know.
The reason I posted was this: I billed the facilities dept for a second person; and they`ve queried it. I quoted H&S & our RA/MS; they came back with a comment from someone on the HSE helpline.
I, (with the wonderful assistance from our "snakehips" ) came back with lots of info to back up my position; and have since found 2 direct recommendations of this in HSE publications (HSG85).
So I wanted to see what y`all would do, under those circumstances. Thanks to all who replied.
