Whats the best to join/apply for first?

Hi there,

First post here, have been reading for last few days various posts all really helpful, top quality site.

I am based in central scotland and been looking to get either select or niceic etc approved in the near future.

Was wondering who would be best to apply for first, im thinking select?,through time I aim to get all certifications to do all works anywhere possible but what not sure where to start

Realise I am not the first person to ask this but all opinions would help and will be applying for 1 of these schemes in the next few days

since you dont have part p, i wouldnt bother with any.

A reason could be for industrial & commercial PIR's where the insurer requires a scam registration.

Though Part P is irrelevant to industrial/commercial & as has been said not relevant in Scotland apparently.

Welcome to the forum Davearch. Are you looking at doing mainly commercial / domestic / or a mixture of electrical works? Some councils in England specify NIC approve contractors when work is being tendered for. I am not sure if there are any trends in Scotland. Some of our other Scottish members will probably log on later and should be able to offer some more accurate advice.
