What's the difference

What's the difference between an installation box and a knockout box? I've never really known the answer!

I would think that rather than an electricians term its a manufacturer term, which probably refers to a metal back box or something.

That's what i'm trying to find out! :^O

They're both in the screwfix catalogue. They look exactly the same other than that the installation boxes seems shallower that the knockout box (metal back box).

Ah right, page 322 I see. It must mean something to Screwfix but its just confusing TBH. In the real world its a flush knock-out box exactly the same as the other two pictures .

Just had a look myself ...same as deke.

its just their terminology and seems to refer to their budget range.
