stuck between a firm pair of t***
evening men,

been doing a bit of painting etc for a friend of the wifes, hesband ran off etc... so she wants to tart the place up for selling.

been making a list of stuff to do when i saw this2012-06-13 18.17.17_resized.jpg

it looks like they have only used 2 phases and left the 3rd set of tails hanging in mid air! and no idea why they have not connected bondings.

earth also in a connector that was stuffed behind the wood so no one could see it. i did look for the rod but no where to be found.

just out of intrest, what coding would you give this lot on an inspection?

i did not test as i did not expect to see this and had no kit with me.

thanks

lol was going to dave, reson i asked was for her devorce, hubby is saying he did loads of work to get more cash out of her when he did hardly anything and what he did was substandard.

he put a new roof on but left the soffits, facia and guttering off lol

pref a double pole one. otherwise you will know if the fuse works or not
Explain please?

He's concerned about a possibly (probably) live tail wrapped in tape going nowhere.

How can sticking that into a single pole henley do any harm other than ensuring nobody can touch it? :C

there are 2 ovum dave

ok, dumb arse question now guys.....look at the pics, the two tails in mid are are the blue taped ph and yellow ph, i was assuming that an rcd was there and it was a live and nutral but does it look like 2 live tails to you? ive not done a lot on 3ph to be honest and would apreciate a few pointers.

thanks for your help

depends on the installation methods same as normal eg if all in trunking then ok. 30mA required as normal eg on sockets

i only had 2 mins to look at it as i had to get the kids, i sure the 100ma is protecting the whole house and the 30ma is protecting the garage. im round there tomorrow eve so will have a better look

Probably easier to just disconnect the other end of them tails rather than putting a Henley block on,

Can you not just take the unused tails out to me they feed the brown bakelite board perhaps its disused I would be more concerned about the earthing personally.

From what I can make out it looks as though the two RCCB's are supplied from the red phase, the grey service fuse has two tails coming out, one to the three phase meter and one to the single phase meter. I would therefore suggest that the yellow and blue phases are not being used in the installation, you may even find that the fuses have been removed and the cartridge resealed. I can't imagine a meter monkey leaving the tails floating in mid air with tape over the ends. However the hopeless DIY deserter, thats a different ball game. I would test the floating tails and then disconnect at Henleys.
