Hi.

Been a long time lurker and reader, finally ought to make a post.

I have a mate who owns a restuarant and needs a new CCTV stystem, "..nothing too fancy" = dont want to spend too much.

Ive never done cctv work before (but come from pa / lighting background) .

Hes after a basic system comprising of -

3 indoor cameras

1 outdoor to cover carpark

Dvr with enough capacity for a weeks recording.

Screen.

If anyone could point me in the right direction of some good but not too expensive kit, that would be great.

Thanks

Chris

hello Chris K welcome to the world of posting...

general rule...

Colour cameras need more light for a good picture..

but easier to identify people e.g. colour of coat/trousers etc..

B&W cameras better for darker areas with lower ambient light.

If needed for night time surveillance may need associated floodlight!

A good choice for ease of installation would be one of the new kits available.

All cables recorders and cameras included colour by day and black and white at night.

Failing that you could go for a bespoke sytem, each camera could cost

Hey Chris

I think you should choose a dvr that is big enough for 30 Days then it can automaticaly over write its self.

We had this problem before, if you record the public you need to keep footage for 30 days ( so the police say )
