I dunno,

last one I saw hadnt got an original roof, unless isopon was a ford part that is,,,,,,

just spotted it and thought if it was the right money may be of interest.

sometimes folks have totally different ideas about how much something is really worth as opposed to how much they think it is.

both directions, though I tend to fins most folks think something is worth more than it is, bit like estate agents really I suppose.

I actually made the wife buy a 2door car when our little one was born,

just so much safer/solid.

OK, a lot of hassle, but in the event of the worst happening, in my mind a lot safer in the rear, especially in a side on,

saying that, the shape of a capri wouldnt have been easy...........

Okay I admit, I went through the prat mobil stage. I owned one for 2 years Until I realised the ability to tow things, carry things and go places was far more important than posing.

So I sold it and bought a Landrover.

There, that stopped the conversation.

FORD

Fix Or Repair Daily.

I had a capri,

for about a fortnight until I realised the whole design meant you couldnt actually drive very fast in it,!!!!

FFS, what idiot thought putting a great big lump of an engine that far forward in that long a car would actually help it to handle!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

at least the MK1 escort could go round corners.!

oh, for the joys of a Mexico again.  :D

ive owned 3

1600 laser with a full body kit all silver with go faster red stripes, a mate used it to go on leave back to the UK, left it outside the pub had a ruck in the public and won, the beaten  party and mates spiked the tank with sugar. So far as I know the motor is still in a field at evesham.

2.0 bog standard in metallic blue, became the pool car for all the lads until one of them let a non driver have a go and he stuffed it into the battery accommodation block early on a Sundays morning after a night on the lash in Dortmund.

Last one was a gold 3.0 v6 all singing all dancing with Brookland leather interior, a janspeed box, seem to remember the engine was a pinto and went like ***** off a shovel......sold that one when i left germany

drive a capri fast and you had tailspin,!

drive a mexico to the floor and you had something that stuck to a blanket like sticky stuff after being ill!!!!!!!!!!

Fun in wet weather, and a bag on cement in the boot when snow was on the deck.

The doors on the Capri were Fricking huge!

Changed hinge pins twice...had to buy A special tool.

Also had an issue with the bodywork inside the hinge door pillar. Pillar was double skinned and outer skin used to corrode and the door fall off!
The hinge pin removal tools are easy enough to make tbh. The area you are referring to, the A-post, is one of the common areas to suffer from serious tin worm. In Capri circles nowadays, non sunroof models are sought after. People even re-skin a restoration with a new roof etc. The drainage tubes that come from the sunroof down inside the windscreen pillars often stop short and exit into this exact area. All parts are available............if you have the dosh:

3.0L V6...........fair enough that would be an Essex engine. The Pintos were the 4-cylinder models.
