Hello,

I have attached two pics, one showing the new light and the other showing the existing light fitting. The new light fitting has one live wire and one neutral wire. The existing light fitting has two of each. What is the correct way of wiring this new fitting?

Hi Deftones, great band btw 😎

If you look at your existing fitting. The blue wire located to the right is terminated with the Live of the lamp. This is acting as your live switch (should be marked as such). This will be wired into the live of your new fitting and the other neutral to neutral. The remaining 2 live conductors look like they’ll have to go into a Wago Connector.

Connections to that fitting must be enclosed and not with a Wago to maintain its apparent Class II status which probably a tenuous claim to say the least. There is no simple way to connect that fitting aside from a joint in the ceiling void and a single cord coming down. I'm afraid to say it is John Lewis junk produced in China.
