Hi,

I've never had anything to do with solar pv and haven't really looked into it which is bad really but I will be working in a house with solar pv and wanted to ask a few basic questions.

They will also help any new people starting out in case they were wanting to know the same thing.

These may be stupid questions so tin hat on.

Turning main switch off, will this isolate installation of will the pv need isolating too?

Thanks for any info or pointers where to find basic diagrams of pv setups and any info on isolation :)

Thanks

Matty, from day one you have always asked the right questions, and learned one hell of a lot which is why no one would think any thing of any basic question you ask.

I have never done any PV, but would say that if it has been installed correctly then the PV would need isolation too.

Now I prepare myself to be shot down.

Told you I was human.

Matty , I also know little about PV other than the basic premise . I don't really care anymore, but you ask away , tin hat will not be required . I think KME or Stepps are the guys to answer.

Edit;

Oh and the Canalside Kid by the looks of it.

The important things are find the isolators for the inverter and isolate it.

Then test for dead.

NEVER assume turning off the main switch really has isolated the supply. TEST IT.
