Hi,

What work lights do you all use?

i.e. when up in the loft working on lighting circuit with power off, do you use a 240V light and run extension leads or do you use a battery light? if battery which one?

Cheers

2D task lights. Again, ITS London are pretty good on price for these, I have several. The torch comes out for the odd trip up on callouts etc... but FWIW if you're there for more than a few minutes you might as well stick the lead light up.

Ive got one of them 500W halogens but dont like it as its more like a heater and sweat just runs off ya when your up in the loft as if it aint hot enough already up there lol headbang

500w lights do have their uses - if you have wasps, put light up there, they will all fly towards it, and then cook when they hit the glass. leave for an hour or so, and no more living wasps in your way

I use a battery powered led head torch . You have both hands free and the light is good enough to work safely

Thanks ever so much for that info. If a wasp comes im gone hate the things with avengance and trust me i will run like a girl bad day explode
i hate them too. discovered this a few years ago - opened loft, put light in, noticed wasps, quickly got out & left light. noticed a few dead minutes later, so left it there the full day

i use a an led head torch and if can be bothered to set it up, a lead lamp with a 60 watt bulb. bright enough and doesnt fry you when you work next to it, but then its not too great for wasp combat.

keep meaning to get one of those recharchable flourescents but not got round to it yet, there great coz you dont have to run a lead and if you got all power off you still get light. i do quite a few board changes in cellars with a headtorch, each time cursing myself for not buying a battery lamp!

i have a 18v dewalt fluorescent light, gives a amazing amount of light, i got it for

rechargable Petzl head torch & a AA battery led head torch just in case the other one goes flat
