I got the letter for the recall last week but it does not contain much information, surely they should let us know what dates or copy invoice to know what numbers we bought, so if they say we had 2 we then have a good idea of what we are looking for what happens to the one of these MCB's that are not used and have gone back into our stock or have been used on other jobs on new installed circuits.

Me as most sparks on here probably don't know what they fitted at the time and to go through your records will be hard and that is if the paper-work can be found, has anyone got the link or copy of the paperwork for identifying these.

Maybe we should just give them the addresses of all of our installs and let them contact the clients. !!

I will ring there helpline anyway.

Mike.

Is this another recall?????

Don't give it back to them, you do know they pay

there was an identical thread a few days ago

as far as im aware, its still the same recall, there just chasing up any last remaining faulty MCB's

and why give them the address of where they may be, when you can get

I had a guy who must have thought he would clean up when this happened , he contacted me and he claimed to have thousands in Cardiff, Bristol and them areas and was looking for a spark to sub them to ... I obviously was aware of the

You still charge for the visit Mikep. They should have sent you some stickers for the boards to show they've received a visit and a list of date codes and sizes to look for . I discovered they phone round based on your return addresses to ask if you made the visit and is there a check sticker on the board. Mine were all Steeple (Crabtree) Still have to lift them out to check whether you swap them or not.

But you supply the new MCBs and pay to send the dodgey ones back to Electrium.

Sparks at my wholesaler had the letter from them but can't be bothered to do them ,said he,s too busy , its their problem not his. As far as I know he not done any recalls.

Cheers Deke,

I have been sent just 1 sheet of paper saying I have purchased the faulty units through Screwfix, and the only details no production codes or anything, just a phone number to ring, I suppose it will be a bit clearer when I ring them, Maybe a complete set of instructions would have been good, I have found somebody online that has supplied the batch numbers etc.

I have found a couple on the list which I have in the van,

The implications could be quite frightening if they are not replaced from what I can see and have read.

all the details, including the serial numbers, are on here somewhere from when it was around a few years back

they should also be fairly easy to find on google

none of the MCB's i removed showed any sign of damage, although IIRC, one of themembers here did find a damaged one

I put it in the tips and tricks section as at the time it seemed more appropriate only sparks should be looking at the numbers on the breakers.

Cheers Deke,Mikep, you need to get back to them , they will send instuctions etc. Don't do them off your own bat or you won't get paid.

And if and when you do start any recalls , you need some replacement breakers from the wholesaler on sale or return or you'll be running around like a scalded chicken.

Oh and you must be registered with a CPS .

I just got my recall letter on Monday from Electrium, they recon I have purchased my units from Scewfix Between April 2009 and March 8th 2010, after ringing Screwfix they confirmed this and Electrium has sent me the packs with a Supplier Authourisation Form, pre paid address label to send back the form and any MCB's I change and a sticker to put on the CU with a serial number on it.

The date on the MCB they have given me is SRRA

Hope this helps anyone who is not sure what's going on

Chas
