This gland was removed from a product and I cannot recall how it went together!!
I've not seen this type before any ideas?

I would say it is for an SY type cable.

Put rubber in body, wider steel ring with flange to rubber, other steel ring with flange to outside (to trap wire shroud), brash washer, nut.

See how that looks

Oh. Several times you have said it is a "specialised product" but then you also said
The floodlight came with this gland.

So it's a flood light? why not post a picture of it, or details of supplier? Can't help you unless you are specific, which a picture or information would help no end.:)

God above, its a massive ships floodlight, its a specialised product, what does it matter?
The question was asking about the gland, just the gland nothing else, you either know how it goes together or you don't, why waste everyone's time with semantics?

I would say the dome part goes in first then the other silver part to clamp the cable braid or armour, then the rubber, brass washer and bush.
I would suggest trial and error but judging from your last post I suspect you don't have much patience.

Why would you assume I have no patience? this post is several days old.
I've tried numerous arrangements before posting on here, unclear why you would assume I hadn't. I wasn't convinced any of them were correct, hence reaching out to you guys.

Why don't you take the gland on another specialised product apart to get your answer rather than venting your spleen on here

Gee why did I not think of that? perhaps its because I only have the one. Who would have guessed.
The original post shows the gland in very clear sections and asks if anyone knows how it goes together, the only reply should be if someone knows, the rest is unnecessary in my view, that's why I am frustrated.

go ask the 'specialised product' manufacturer. or maybe RTFM?

Everyone is only trying to help you, there is no need to be sarcastic, you clearly do not understand how forums work. If you persist with your outrage you will leave me little choice.
No, they are not helping, they are either stating the bleeding obvious or asking unrelated questions like your good self.
The reason I say that is because even if I answer your specific question you would still not be able to answer my question, therefore wasting my time.
I feel this post has run its course and I feel happier knowing that no one else knows how the gland goes together either.
If this is the state of the forum Ill delete my own account, I have better things to do with my time.
