Yours was reference method c, clipped direct , it wasn't aimed at you , it was meant for fishing it across existing coving, which imo isn't good practice. No problem with what u did mate , t+e is a surface cable after all

no but they do write guides to the regs. I dont solely rely on them , but they are useful and generally correct
