    TN-C-S Pitfalls

Apprentice 87 Now, i cannot see this, but i was at a large shopping centre and noticed that there were earth rod boxes everywhere outside surrounding the buildings, so whether this was indeed a TT'ed huge install with multiple rods, or a"proper"PME one, I have no idea. [Obviously i cannot go...

    Cabling At (In?) Coving Level

There is actually a decent sized gap behind it , doesn't mean u can just ram a cable in it though :P

    Cabling At (In?) Coving Level

Yours was reference method c, clipped direct , it wasn't aimed at you , it was meant for fishing it across existing coving, which imo isn't good practice. No problem with what u did mate , t+e is a surface cable after all

    Cabling At (In?) Coving Level

Why not just price it for how long it would take you to do it properly, and do it properly.Shoddy short cut if you ask me. Reference method 'hanging in the coving'

    Horizontal Cable Zones

he,s got the typical Spark's "Whatif" complaint . A lot of us have got it for some reason , I think its due too the huge amount of rules & Regs we have to consider berfore we strike a blow. In his case " What if they fit some hooks" Well sorry but run cable in safe zones and stop trying...

    Horizontal Cable Zones

I suppose I do it so the kitchen fitters have as little to do with my install as possible lol, and the cupboards can be removed without the need to disconnect anything, not a big deal tbh

    Horizontal Cable Zones

Yeah, I agree I also go horizontal in the safe zone , I do the same as onoff with all my cables chased and capped behind the cupboards, with access holes. All so socket outlets should be in the fabric of the building , and I'm not wholly convinced that the inside of the cupboard counts as...

Anyone here know anything aboit ipods?

It's not a good idea to take the back off, as I'm sure it will void the warranty, why not book it in at the genius bar and let them sort it out for you ? I've had a couple of my(many many) apple products replaced free of charge (recon units) , just do a full back up and make sure its running on...

Splitting a ring into 2 radials

Sometime the problem with splitting the ring into 2 radials is that you end up with 1 very short radial and 1 rather long 1. The short radial isn't a problem but a long radial with a lot of sockets can cause many problems like over loading or high zs reading, you normally get away with it but...

    Did you know .....

here's 1 for you , i seen a thread on here where somebody had posted a picture of their very neat DB , but they had tie wrapped the cables inside the board ( browns together, blues together, earths together) does that not derated the cables current carrying capacity, its seems pretty common...

    Did you know .....
