its usually down to position, if the isolator is too close or above the cooker then they say this is illegal and refuse to connect the cooker. this may be the case on new installs but they say it about installations upto 40-50 years old.

by far our biggest PITA at work is sodding currys/comet etc "electricians" refusing to connect cookers and telling tenants that their cooker point is illegal. drives us potty.

but that would make some sockets on landings and even bedrooms illegal, hell i have at least 3 illegal sockets in my kitchen according to that!

i'd go back to them, it can't be an installtion fault as its a push fit connection where the front cover should stop it from falling out completely. the best i've had was a subbie fitted a new board and the left the property at 5pm, i was there to replace the board after the firebrigade left at...

i wasn't on about the bricks warranty, its the entire heater that loses its warranty and they do fail in that after a number of years they crumble and break up.

forgot to say, if you don't change the bricks then the warranty is void and they are different to look at.

an xl12 is still going to be 15Kg+ so hate to see shipping costs, its horrible to say but we skipped a brand new heater a month ago as it had been stripped of a few parts(thermostat cutout assembly, elements, control knobs think that was it) as there was no where to store it and no one wanted...

i think the companies aren't allowed to pay the show/channel to use a product but it can be shown at the show/channels discretion if the product was either a gift or sold to them cheaply.

you get heat out of a storage heater within 5 mins, not full heat but heat none the less.

a 3kw storage heater will use the same electricity whilst on as a 3kw panel heater but once turned off it will remain hot, unlike the panel heater. how is that not a plus point?

they'll cost a fortune on peak electric rates.

its known as a 5 wire meter, L in, N in, N out, L out, then a 5th wire (off peak L) sits in front of the outward tails and you split the N in a henley block normally.

as said it sounds fine but unconventional, you could have 100 circuits on a 63A main switch if you want as long as they are small circuits, when i eventually build my own house i will be putting a rather large board and running each rooms lighting and sockets as individual circuits so nothing...

very true, bloody nightmare. parts aren't dear on vag cars relative to others, they are all bloody expensive.

the c-max, i hadn't noticed it was a 1.6 skoda's aren't really the bargain they used to be anyway, 9 years ago the octavia was a golf but with a more powerful engine and higher spec for less money, now the spec is the same, the engines the same and its the same money.
